The New York Mets crushed their division rival Atlanta Braves by a score of 13-2 on Friday afternoon in Tradition Field.

Jon Niese (2.84 ERA) started the game and allowed three hits in 3.2 scoreless innings, striking out three and walking only one. Niese is looking good, my friends.

Sean Gilmartin (9.82 ERA) allowed a run on two hits in 1.2 innings of relief, walking two – both lefty hitters – and striking out one. He’s getting awfully close to being an ex-Met unless he has a dramatic turnaround like right now. Throw strikes dude!

Jack Leathersich (16.88 ERA) pitched 2/3 of an inning  allowing a hit and striking out one. Buddy Carlyle (0.00 ERA) with another scoreless inning. Hey remember all the people that moaned when we re-signed him? I do.

By the way, from our Stats Incredible department, just kidding it’s from Mets.com, if you were to take all the performances of the lefthanded relievers in camp, and meld them all together, you’ll get a very unsightly 13.66 ERA.

All hail Wilmer Flores who continues to be the most productive player in camp. Flores was a triple short of the cycle today with a single, double and three-run homer while scoring three runs and raising his average to .455. He also made two excellent wide ranging plays at shortstop – what’s that like a dozen now?!?!

Curtis Granderson had a pair of hits and scored two runs for the Mets and is now batting .417 since receiving his diploma from Kevin Long University.

Meanwhile, David Wright is starting to get it together. The Mets captain went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a walk, and two runs scored.

Double the Pleasure: Travis d’Arnaud, John Mayberry, Eric Campbell, Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Ruben Tejada each had non-stop trips to second base.

On Deck: The Mets will host the Washington Nationals at Tradition Field on Saturday at 1:00 PM. Tyler Pill gets the nod after Zack Wheeler was scratched with a tender elbow. This is the only time the word “tender” is never an endearing term. Lets Go Mets!
