Mike Newman over at FanGraphs answered a couple of Mets questions during his live chat this afternoon.

Does Darrell Ceciliani have any sleeper potential this year?

Mike Newman: I didn’t think he was all that promising when I saw him in person. Maybe he’s a 4th OF if everything breaks right, but I don’t have much faith.

What are the ceilings of the Mets’ Michael Fulmer and Domingo Tapia?

Mike Newman: Fullmer might become a bulldog #3 type. Tapia has the fastball/changeup to start, but his arm slot and inconsistent slider has me and contacts torn. At worst, he’s a damn good reliever for me.

Speaking of Ceciliani, he’s batting .226 for the Surprise Saguaros in the AFL in 31 at-bats. Teammates Dustin Lawley .296/.296/.519 and Cesar Puello .250/.302/.300 are off to better starts at the plate.

On the mound it’s been a rough go for Mets pitchers except for Ryan Fraser who has a 1.29 ERA in seven innings of relief with five strikeouts and one walk.
