The Ronny Mauricio train isn’t slowing down!

The 22-year-old started his MLB career with a bang two weeks ago, roping a 117-mph double in his first at-bat. Since then, he’s slashed singles and a go-ahead double Monday night. But on Tuesday, Mauricio launched his first career home run.

The two-run fourth-inning dinger was 112.4 mph off the bat and went 440 feet to deep right field. It landed in the second deck of the Coca-Cola corner. It put the Mets ahead 3-1 a frame after Francisco Lindor got the Mets on the board with a sacrifice fly.

Mauricio now has 14 batted balls registered at 97 mph or faster in just 36 plate appearances and 27 batted ball events–an absurd rate. He’s going to stick around if he can keep making contact this hard this consistently.
