Maybe he was taking some anger out over supposed trade talks but Jeff McNeil obliterated his driver during some Monday golf.
Not sure if it’s a good or bad omen to break your favorite club. If anything it could signal a fresh start. Maybe that’s in orange and blue next season or maybe not. He’s known to have rifts with current players on the team and the Mets offseason acquisitions aren’t overly favorable toward him getting more playing time.
McNeil, a scratch golfer, hopefully, won’t end up like Yoenis Cespedes and golf every day while supposedly rehabbing two messed up heels.
