The Mets dropped the first of three to the Reds in 11 innings when Manny Acosta served up a game winning homer to Lance Nix in the bottom of the 11th. Oliver Perez started for the Mets and did his best to keep them in the game. Perez was able to escape a crucial jam in the fifth inning that kept the game within reach at 2-1. He pitched six innings allowing two runs on six hits and walking four.

Jeff Francoeur got the scoring started in the second inning with an RBI single that scored Ike Davis. Jose Reyes was able to tie the game with a double in the 6th inning that scored Luis Castillo. Castillo, Reyes and Wright each had two hits.

The Mets bullpen was strong again tonight with Fernando Nieve, Jenry Mejia and Pedro Feliciano combining for four shutout innings.
