Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that Major League Baseball is looking at potentially having a 2020 season playing games at Spring Training facilities in Arizona and Florida.

The biggest change would be the adjustment of all divisions. The makeup of the divisions would be based on the proximity of the spring sites.

With that said, the Mets would play in the same division as the Miami Marlins, Washington Nationals, St. Louis Cardinals, and Houston Astros.

The plan would also include no fans at the games and a universal designated hitter.

Here’s the breakdown of the divisions:

Grapefruit League

  • North Division: Yankees, Phillies, Blue Jays, Tigers, and Pirates
  • South Division: Red Sox, Twins, Braves, Rays, and Orioles
  • East Division: Mets, Astros, Marlins, Cardinals, and Nationals

Cactus League

  • Northeast Division: Cubs, Giants, D-Backs, A’s, and Rockies
  • West Division: Dodgers, White Sox, Angels, Reds, and Indians
  • Northwest Division: Brewers, Padres, Mariners, Rangers, and Royals

The winner of the Grapefruit League would play the winner of the Cactus League in a likely November World Series.
