Mets utility infielder Justin Turner, who left Tuesday’s game after six innings with right hamstring tightness, will get an MRI this morning and be evaluated by team doctors.

Turner later told reporters,”I came in and the trainer said to shut it down,” according to ESPN New York.

“I’ve never had any hamstring problems before. Hopefully it’s not too bad and in a couple of days I’ll be able to get back out there.”

Turner has seen his playing time increase since David Wright was lost to a hamstring issue himself. He has batted .391 over his last seven games with two doubles, two home runs, six runs scored and five RBI.

Turner is up for arbitration after the season for the first time. My gut feeling thinks the Mets will settle with him at around $700K and that he will return again next season, especially if his biggest supporter Terry Collins returns.
