The New York Mets announced this afternoon that they have placed catcher Travis d’Arnaud on the 10-day disabled list with a bone bruise on his right wrist.

Travis has a splint on and is going to rest for a week before resuming baseball activities. He is hitting .203/.288/.475 with four home runs and 16 RBI in 66 plate appearances in 2017.

Travis hadn’t played since leaving the game early on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves.

Tonight’s starter, Rafael Montero, will take d’Arnaud’s roster spot on the 25 man for the time being.

New York Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud is out of the lineup today for the second straight game after hurting his right wrist on Tuesday. He left the Mets 9-7 loss to the Atlanta Braves in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Manager Terry Collins now says that d’Arnaud is still pretty sore and will see a doctor this afternoon. It’s the same wrist that Travis initially hurt against the Phillies on April 19.

Travis is hitting .203/.288/.475 with four home runs and 16 RBI in 66 plate appearances in 2017.

Rene Rivera gets the start again for the Mets tonight and New York also has catcher Kevin Plawecki on the bench.
