Here they are, hot off the press…. Topps released their 2016 Baseball Cards Series 1 sets, packs and hobby boxes this week, and there are plenty of Mets to go around including Curtis Granderson and Wilmer Flores as shown above. There are 17 Mets cards in all within the 350 regular card set.

Travis d’Arnaud and Noah Syndergaard will be hot picks for die-hard Mets fans this year, and I can’t wait to see this battery dominate in 2016. Topps included the team’s top three starting pitchers, you’ll have to wait for Series 2 if you’re looking for Big Sexy and Steven Matz. The Long Island native however, does appear in a special subset.

David Wright sneaked into Series 1 and Topps is bringing back their popular First Pitch subset this year. Kristaps Porzingis is one of four different celebrities who tossed a first pitch at Citi Field last season. But no Yoenis Cespedes card in this first release…. You’re killing me, Smalls….

For those of you who love collecting rookie cards, you’re in luck. Topps has included two different variations of Michael Conforto‘s rookie card and I love the camo variation, but where’s the trophy? Wilmer Flores also has a second variation card in the series.
Anyhow, those are just a few of the Mets in Series 1 which also includes Juan Lagares, Michael Cuddyer, Kevin Plawecki, Jon Niese, Jeurys Familia, Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom and the Mets Team Checklist.
As far as special inserts, subsets, relics and autographed cards, it’s loaded with goodies including three MLB Debut relic cards for Nolan Ryan, Dwight Gooden and Matt Harvey, plus 15 different Mets auto cards including a really cool Johan Santana auto card. But the real jewel this year is a Mike Piazza signed Leather Glove relic card. I saw the Ken Griffey Jr. version and it’s a gem
There you go my friends, start collecting…
