New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham left the game as the team was going out to play defense for the top of the fourth inning. Pham left with the trainer. The veteran outfielder grimaced as he tried to beat out a double play groundout he hit into to end the bottom of the fourth inning.

Pham, 35, has been one of the Mets best hitters this season with a .274/.359/.479 line before action on Thursday. He has 15 doubles, nine home runs, 35 RBIs, 11 stolen bases and a 132 OPS+ in 73 games this season after signing a one-year deal during the offseason.

Pham recently missed time with a groin injury.

If the Mets decide to sell prior to the upcoming August 1 deadline, Pham is expected to be one of their key trade chips.

As the game started on Thursday against the White Sox, the Mets placed fellow veteran outfielder Starling Marte on the injured list with migraines.
