“Royals To Rub Mets Noses In It”

“Royals Are Going To Twist Knife In Mets’ Back”

“Royals Keep Pouring On The Pain”

What are those you might ask? They are titles from some butt-hurt bloggers that are up in arms because the Kansas City Royals intend to celebrate their World Series championship during both games of their season-opening series with the New York Mets at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals will raise their World Series Championship banner before the game on Sunday during ESPN’s Opening Night Baseball broadcast. And then on Tuesday, the Royals will present their players with their World Series rings in a pregame ceremony.

How can the Royals be so damn freaking evil, what were they thinking???

Actually, they were thinking the same exact thing I’d hope the Mets would be thinking if the shoe was on the other foot.

When ESPN informed the Mets and Royals that their original Opening Day game was being moved from Monday afternoon to Sunday night, Kansas City decided to shift their ring ceremony to Tuesday so that their fans would all be able to view it on their regular Fox Affiliate and share in the moment. ESPN had no intentions of airing that ceremony had they kept it on Sunday.

So let’s cut the whole woe-is-us crap and just focus on taking both games at Kauffman and getting the 2016 season off to a great start.

I say we go with Matt Harvey in Game 1 and Jacob deGrom in Game 2, that way Noah Syndergaard gets the Home Opener against the Phillies. Can’t wait….
