Tim Teufel has decided to stay in the New York Mets organization as the roving Minor League infield instructor and team ambassador according to Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal.
Teufel was replaced as the Mets third base coach two weeks ago by former Arizona Diamondbacks long-time coach Glenn Sherlock.

According to multiple sources, baseball lifer Glenn Sherlock is replacing Tim Teufel as the Mets’ third base coach. Sherlock will also be the new catching instructor.
Sherlock and Terry Collins were spotted together at the GM Meetings. He was since let go from the Diamondbacks when a new manager took the helm and wanted to hire his own coaches.
It’s reported that Tim Teufel will be offered another position in the Mets organization. It is possible he was offered the job of replacing Wally Backman as the AAA manager in Las Vegas.
