The Mets have officially announced via Twitter that Ruben Tejada has been placed on the 15-Day DL with a right quad strain. Omar Quintanilla will get the call to replace him on the active 25-man roster and will wear the number three.

As a corresponding move to make room for him on the 40-man roster, Frank Francisco will be moved to the 60-Day disabled list.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that Ruben Tejada will be placed on the disabled list with an injured quad.

Omar Quintanilla was pulled from the Las Vegas 51s game last night and was already heading to New York to join the team. The 31 year old infielder was batting .333 with a .419 on-base in 47 games for Triple-A Las Vegas.

Adam Rubin believes the Mets will move Frank Francisco to the 60-Day Disabled List to make room for Quintanilla on the 40 Man Roster.

Ruben Tejada left Wednesday night’s game with an apparent quadriceps injury according to Terry Collins.

It looked like Tejada slid awkwardly while attempting to catch a foul popup in the ninth inning that Mike Baxter caught for the first out. He gingerly walked back to his position and after making a routine play for the second out of the inning, he was removed from the game and replaced by Justin Turner.

Collins said Tejada hurt his quad running and will have it checked out in the morning.

The slumping shortstop is in danger of being demoted and went 1-5 with a run scored in the game, but also had a mental lapse in the field that led to a pair of Yankee runs.
