Friday night, the Mets fell to the San Diego Padres 7-1, dropping a crucial first game of the Wild Card Series. Max Scherzer gave up seven runs in 4 2/3 innings, conceding four home runs. Eduardo Escobar provided the lone Mets run with a solo home run in the fifth inning.

This is the first time in New York Mets history that they have allowed four home runs in one playoff game, according to @ESPNStatsInfo. Before tonight, they had played 89 postseason games.
