Mickey Callaway spoke with reporters after the game and did not give out good news regarding T.J. Rivera, in which he said that the infielder is “struggling to get over the hump” and return to game action.

Rivera, 30, got Tommy John Surgery back in 2017 and has not made his way back to the major leagues since then. He tried to return to the team last season, but experienced elbow pain as it is being said he is dealing with now.

The Bronx native hit .290/.330/.430 with five home runs and 27 RBI in 73 games during the 2017 season. That is the highest total of MLB games he has played in a season so far.
