After Noah Syndergaard turned in 4.2 innings of two run ball on Tuesday afternoon, Mickey Callaway announced that the right-hander will get the Opening Day nod.

Jacob deGrom, who started his first spring game on Sunday, will follow up and start Game No. 2 for the Mets.

The 25-year-old Syndergaard was limited to just seven starts in 2017 after sustaining a partially torn lat in an April game against the Washington Nationals.

DeGrom, who went 15-10 last season, likely would have started had he been healthy all spring, but was nursing back soreness in the opening weeks leading up to his start Sunday.

This will be Syndergaard’s second Opening Day start in as many years.
