On Saturday, Noah Syndergaard took to Twitter with an answer for his landlord, who claimed that the right-hander neglected to pay rent on his Tribeca penthouse – priced at $27,000 per month – after signing an eight-month lease back in February, per Adam Schrader of the New York Post. Now, Syndergaard must deal with an official lawsuit filed by the landlord as of Friday.

In a personally typed note tweeted out from his account, Syndergaard refuted his landlord’s claims, stating “I fairly, and in good faith offered to pay 2 months rent (over 50K) to a landlord for a place I was never going to step foot in due to a global pandemic.”

The 27-year-old then went on to say that he made it a point to “try and re-rent” with as much notice as possible, before having to head to Florida for Tommy John surgery and rehab.

The landlord – stating himself that Syndergaard must honor the contract regardless – is now looking for $250,000 with this lawsuit, the full value of the eight-month lease.
