An incredible and unbelievable performance at the plate by right-hander Noah Syndergaard at Dodger Stadium, where the young Mets phenom blasted home runs in each of his first two at-bats on Thursday night against Dodgers right-hander Kenta Maeda.

Syndergaard launched his first home run of the season – a solo shot –  over the right-center-field wall to give the Mets an early 1-0 lead. Maeda served up a fastball down the middle of the plate and Syndergaard jumped all over it.

Then three innings later, with two men on base in the fifth, Syndergaard crushed a 2-2 slider from Maeda over the fence in dead center to give the Mets a 4-2 lead. Here’s the video of the second shot:

Syndergaard became the first big league pitcher to hit two home runs in a game since Micah Owings performed the feat in 2007, and he tied Walt Terrell who also hit two homers in a game for the Mets on Aug. 6, 1983 against the Chicago Cubs.

In his third at-bat in the sixth inning, the Dodgers would finally retire Thor when Chris Hatcher struck out Syndergaard who swung through a high fastball.

But oh what a night…
