According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, Brewers bullpen coach Steve Karsay will interview for the Mets pitching coach vacancy.

Karsay, 47, spent the 2019 season the Brewers’ bullpen coach after being a pitching coach in the Indians’ minor league system for eight years.

Karsay reportedly played a key role in helping lefty Drew Pomeranz become a bullpen stud last season.

The former first round pick pitched in parts of 11 big league seasons including three years with the Yankees. Karsay was born in Flushing and went to Chris The King High School in Queens.

Phil Regan finished the 2019 season as the Mets interim pitching coach, but it hasn’t been reported whether or not he’s being considered to come back in that role.

Twins’ assistant pitching coach Jeremy Hefner and Michigan pitching coach Chris Fetter are the other known candidates for the vacancy.
