The New York Mets traveled to Disney to take on R.A. Dickey and the Atlanta Braves. Rafael Montero took the mound making his first start of the spring as the Mets defeated the Braves 3-0.
Pitching
Rafael Montero made his first start of the spring. He continued a very strong spring, in which he is making a case for one of the remaining bullpen spots. Montero threw five shutout innings of four hit ball. He struck out one and lowered his ERA to 1.96.
Hansel Robles then came on in relief, making his third appearance since returning from the World Baseball Classic. He threw a pair scoreless innings, allowing a hit and striking out one.
Josh Edgin put forward another strong inning, as he retired the Braves 1-2-3 in the eighth. He has lowered his spring ERA down to 3.86.
Paul Sewald continued his impressive spring as he recorded the save, setting the Braves down 1-2-3 in the ninth. His spring ERA is down to a mark of 1.46.
Hitting
Juan Lagares led off the game with a triple and scored on a wild pitch. He is hitting .300 with two home runs in his last nine games. Juan left the game in the third with a strained oblique.
Michael Conforto hit his third homer on the spring. He is now hitting .346 over 52 at-bats this spring. Conforto also picked up a base hit and drew a walk on the day.
Wilmer Flores made a nice play on a foul ball over near the railing and picked up a base hit.
L.J. Mazzilli poked a sacrifice fly in the seventh to score Rene Rivera, who reached on a walk.
Ty Kelly continued his fight for one of the last bench spots, picking up two hits on the day.

The Mets take on the Braves again, however this time at First Data Field at 1:10 PM. Matt Harvey takes the mound for the Mets, he will be opposed by Matt Wisler.
