Pitching
Sean Gilmartin took the bump in his first outing since March 8th after nursing a shoulder injury. The left hander tossed 18 pitches over two innings, 10 strikes to 8 balls, while allowing one earned run on three hits, walking two, and notching his fourth strikeout of the spring.
Rafael Montero was stellar across his two innings, striking out both Freddie Freeman and Dansby Swanson. Montero’s only baserunner was Adonis Garcia, who singled in his second at bat after doubling in a run off Gilmartin in his first.
Hansel Robles followed suit with two k’s of his own over two perfect innings. Robles ends the spring having not allowed an earned run over 7.2 IP, striking out nine in the process.
Beck Wheeler retired the first two in the seventh before surrendering a home run to Blake Lalli, putting the Braves in front. Wheeler rebounded by striking out Jace Peterson to end the inning.
Chasen Bradford pitched a perfect eight without striking out a hitter tallying a pair of groundouts and keeping the deficit at a run. Bradford’s efforts paved the way for the Mets late rally to tie the game at 2-2.
Cory Burns closed things out for the Mets allowing one hit and recording a strikeout en route to a scoreless frame.
Hitting
T.J. Rivera‘s base knock off Braves starter Josh Collmenter was the only RBI recorded by a Met on the afternoon. Rivera concluded his outing going 1-for-3 with a strikeout.
Ty Kelly was 0-for-2 batting second in the order and one of five strikeout victims for Collmenter. Kelly’s Grapefruit League season concludes with a .250 average and five runners driven in over 28 at-bats.
Michael Conforto‘s 0-for-3 performance with a strikeout in today’s contest, ends his spring hitting .316 with three round trippers.
Travis d’Arnaud‘s went 1-for-2 with a walk, his base knock coming off Colmenter in the fourth, a single back up the middle.
And wrapping it all up, Tim Tebow‘s 0-3 performance only backed up the former Quarterback’s .148 average in 27 at-bats throughout the spring. Tebow did however draw a crucial one out walk in the ninth.
The Mets would tie the game with two outs in the bottom of the ninth on a wild pitch courtesy of a Caleb Dirks passed ball allowing Kevin Kaczmarski to score.

Two more exhibition games versus AAA affiliate Las Vegas, and the USMA Black Knights will conclude non-regular season play for the Mets. The Orange and Blue will take to Citi Field this coming Monday for the start of their 2017 campaign where Noah Syndergaard will face Julio Teheran at 1:10 ET.
