The New York Mets have a very interesting history where uniform numbers are concerned. Did you know that uniform No. 6 was issued more than any other number, a whopping 46 different times. It was first worn by Jim Marshall in 1962 and last worn by Pat Roesller in 2015.

Mets broadcaster Gary Cohen used to often bemoan every instance of a player wearing No. 17, made famous of course by Keith Hernandez. Among the luminaries who have donned No. 17 since Mex, you have Jeff McKnight, Brent Mayne, Graeme Lloyd, Jose Lima and Dae-Sung Koo to name just a few. But it’s now been eight years since Fernando Tatis last wore the number so maybe it’s in semi-retirement?

For this week’s quiz I want you to keep thinking of uniform numbers. There are 12 uniform numbers that were only issued one time in Mets history to either a player, coach or manager.  You have three minutes to name all 12.

So you think you know the Mets?

Prove it.
