Matt Harvey told reporters that he still doesn’t like pitching on extra rest following the Mets’ 4-3 loss in Los Angeles on Saturday.

“With the six-man and then the day off, throwing last Saturday and then pitching this Saturday was tough,” Harvey told reporters after game.

“We’re all having to deal with it. It’s not an excuse why things didn’t go well today. I just have to do a better job of finding a way to get into a rhythm throughout an extended period of rest like that.”

Terry Collins responded to Harvey’s comments by saying he needs to “get over it.”

Making light of the situation Collins said Harvey could “pitch in Brooklyn” with the Cyclones in between starts if thats how he feels.

Harvey allowed three runs on seven hits and five walks during his outing and was out of sync the entire game.

He says he plans on adding a second bullpen session in between starts before his next scheduled start next weekend.

Collins is feeling empowered since receiving a vote of confidence from Sandy Alderson on Friday. The Mets GM is impressed with how Collins has led the team despite all the injuries.
