Tim Healey of Newsday reports that Seth Lugo threw a bullpen session on Saturday for the first time since fracturing his pinky toe on Monday.

“Felt a little soreness when I got done, but that’s to be expected,” Lugo said. “Hopefully tomorrow that’s gone.”

Mets manager, Luis Rojas, said he wasn’t concerned about the injury when it initially happened and the organization will hope that he’s right to feel that way.

Lugo, 30, was the team’s best reliever in 2019 as he registered a 2.70 ERA, 2.70 FIP, and 0.900 WHIP with 11.7 K/9 as compared to 1.8 BB/9.
