MLB: Spring Training-New York Mets at Detroit TigersAs the Mets wait through a second rain delay and the score tied at 5-5 against the Braves, Ike Davis looked worse than ever tonight at Citi Field.

The slumping first baseman is 0-4 with four strikeouts as they wait for the rain to stop. This has become unbearable.

Meanwhile, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reminds us that infield prospect Wilmer Flores continues to log time at first base with Triple-A Las Vegas.

Flores, the regular second baseman for the 51s, is making his second start of the season at first tonight for Vegas. He is batting .271/.321/.443 with four homers, 13 doubles, 25 runs scored and 28 RBI in 191 plate appearances this season.

But here is the quote of the night from Rubin:

A scout who has watched Las Vegas this season said Friday: “Mets fans are going to be shocked and disappointed at the lack of mobility and range of Flores. No way he will be able to handle anything other than first base in the major leagues. And he doesn’t project enough power at that position to be an everyday guy.”

It’s not like I haven’t been saying this for over two years.
