Mike Mazzeo of ESPN reports that right-hander R.A. Dickey long-tossed with pitching coach Dan Warthen on Saturday and remains on track to throw a bullpen Sunday and make his scheduled Tuesday start against the Pittsburgh Pirates, he told reporters.

“It’s manageable,” Dickey said of the discomfort in his right heel. “I’m optimistic.”

Dickey was diagnosed with a partially torn plantar facia in his right foot, and is day-to-day.

Earlier today, it was also reported that the Mets held Triple-A right-hander Chris Schwinden out of Buffalo’s game in case he would be needed if Dickey is unable to make his next start.

Schwinden, 24, is 3-2 with a 2.36 ERA in eight starts for Buffalo. He has allowed 31 hits while walking 14 and striking out 41 in 45 2/3 innings.
