FLUSHING, N.Y., August 26, 2011 – Following the emergency planning and early mass transit shutdown announced by Mayor Bloomberg in anticipation of Hurricane Irene, the New York Mets today announced the postponement of their games against the Atlanta Braves at Citi Field tomorrow, Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28.

Both games will be rescheduled as a single-admission doubleheader on Thursday, September 8 beginning at 4:10 p.m. Saturday’s game tickets will be honored for admission to the doubleheader; tickets to Sunday’s game will be handled under the Mets’ rain check policy.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 27 – GAME 63

Only tickets marked “Saturday, August 27 – Game 63” will be honored for admission to both make up games on Thursday, September 8 starting at 4:10 p.m. Fans who cannot attend the make up games on September 8 are encouraged to follow the standard rain check ticket exchange policy on Mets.com.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 28 – GAME 64

Tickets marked “Sunday, August 28 – Game 64” WILL NOT be valid for admission to either of the Thursday, September 8 make up games.

Fans holding paid tickets for Sunday’s game may exchange them for tickets comparable in price and location for any regular season Mets home game prior to August 29, 2012, subject to availability.
