MLB: MAY 23 Brewers v NationalsAs this story continues to develop, more names have emerged from the Miami-based clinic that is currently under investigation; including Ryan Braun. Yahoo! Sports obtained three of the clinic’s reports that featured Braun’s name. The Miami New Times originally broke the story last week regarding the clinic and it’s slue of prominent baseball players, including Alex Rodriguez, Gio Gonzalez, Nelson Cruz, Melky Cabrera and University of Miami  strength-and-conditioning coach Jimmy Goins.

MLB could look to discipline players through “non-analytical positives”:

The league could pursue punishment through non-analytical positives – evidentiary links to players without positive tests – and one source said it will not limit the potential discipline to those whose names are surfacing for the first time, meaning those who have faced suspensions in the past could again be tried. -Yahoo! Other names on this new list include Alex Rodriguez (again), Melky Cabrera (again), Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli, Orioles third baseman Danny Valencia and Tigers pitcher Cesar Carrillo (again).

new listSome of the other documents include his initials “RB 20-30K”, a notation used by the clinic’s owner Anthony Bosch as well as several mentions to Braun’s lawyer Chris Lyons, who represented Braun during his legal battle with MLB to overturn his 50-game suspension, which he eventually got off on a “chain-of-custody” technicality.

Finally, there was this:

The third record is a letter from Bosch that appears to be to Juan Nunez, a former runner for the ACES sports agency that represents Cabrera, Cruz and Gonzalez. Though undated, it congratulates “Juan” on “the MVP award” – a possible reference to Cabrera’s All-Star Game MVP – and continues: “This smells like the ‘Braun’ advantage.”

MLB’s initial investigation has been primarily focused on the UMiami link, Braun’s Alma Mater. Not only that, but Carrillo, who also appeared in the report now multiple times, also attended University of Miami and was Braun’s roommate for three years. Jimmy Goins has denied any previous knowledge of Bosch.

Braun is going to have a difficult time finding a “technicality” this time around…
