As the winter roles on, things have come to a bit of a stall the last couple days. The last notable signing across all MLB was the Mets inking Jorge Polanco to a two-year deal. So, we’ve had to rely on the hot stove to get us through the cold days.

Tuesday morning, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com joined the actual Hot Stove (the MLB show) to dish on the latest rumors. During his appearance, he said that he believed Kyle Tucker would be the next domino to fall to get the market moving. He mentioned the Mets as one of the team “looking at” the soon-to-be 29-year-old, who is expected to command a deal north of $300 million. He also said the Blue Jays were “very into him,” and the Yankees and Dodgers were also interested.

Feinsand then said that, once Tucker is signed, that will likely open up Cody Bellinger‘s market. Naturally, the Mets are “very in” on him, as are the Yankees.

Bellinger and Tucker are two players that Mets have been loosely connected to all spring, and I’m sure they’re interested if either signs for a shorter term (think 3-4 years). They’d each fill a huge hole in the lineup and in the corner outfield, too. These two are probably the two best offensive free agents left.
