The Binghamton Rumble Ponies announced that Mets shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio has joined their roster.
Mauricio, 20, is hitting .242/.290/.449 with 14 doubles, five triples, and 19 home runs this season in 100 games for the High-A Brooklyn Cyclones. The switch-hitter came into the season with seven career home runs in 173 pro games, he now has a career-high 19 this year after hitting two in the last four games.
Mauricio is the Mets No. 3 prospect according to most publications (including MMO in our recent update) and ranked as high as the No. 27 prospect in baseball by FanGraphs.

During the canceled 2020 season, Mauricio added considerable strength (about 30 pounds as well) that you can see has translated into significantly more power.
Mauricio joins third baseman Brett Baty and outfielder Carlos Cortes as top 10 prospects on the Rumble Ponies squad. Mets top 10 prospect Mark Vientos was recently promoted to Triple-A Syracuse.
