ESPN reports that major league baseball intends to use a computerized camera system meant to function as “robot umpires” in Spring Training this year.
In addition, they will start incorporating it in the minor leagues, specifically the Florida State League this season as they attempt to properly test and adjust the system before using it in regular-season MLB games.
The system has previously been used in the Atlantic League (independent) and Arizona Fall League.
