The Mets made another fury of roster moves ahead of Wednesday’s series finale with the Cincinnati Reds.

Robert Stock, Tuesday night’s starting pitcher, was placed on the 10-day injured list with a hamstring injury. He suffered the injury in the second inning by hustling out a ground ball while the Mets had men on base.

Stock left the game before he started his second inning of work, which caused the bullpen to take on the lion’s share of innings for the third-straight game.

Geoff Hartlieb was used for 1.1 of those innings. He was optioned back to Triple-A in order to make room for a fresher arm. Nick Tropeano is the replacement. He allowed a run in two innings in an appearance for the Mets the Friday before the All-Star break.

Travis Blankenhorn, one of Sunday’s heroes, was called up in Robert Stock’s place. This now gives the Mets a four-man bench after playing Tuesday with three players available to hit. Ultimately, Blankenhorn takes the place of José Peraza, who fractured a finger and was placed on the 10-day IL yesterday.

Blankenhorn hit his first career home run Sunday that brought the Mets within two runs of the Pirates as they worked their way back from a 6-0 deficit. The three-run jack went 425 feet and ended up skipping into the Allegheny River.

He now has four hits in 16 career at-bats. All four of them are extra-base hits.

The Mets close out their series with the Reds on Wednesday at 12:35 p.m. A much-needed off-day is scheduled for Thursday. Marcus Stroman will start for the Mets.
