The Mets announced on Wednesday afternoon that they’ve placed right-handed pitcher Robert Gsellman on the 10-day injured list with a fractured rib. In the corresponding move, they have recalled right-hander Drew Smith.

Gsellman left the game on Tuesday night in obvious pain, after throwing 76 pitches out of the bullpen in the Mets 11-2 loss to the Orioles. Gsellman has a 7.94 ERA on the season in four starts and two relief appearances.

Smith, 26, continues to be the yo-yo man for the Mets in 2020 as he returns from Brooklyn yet again. He had allowed only two runs in six innings prior to his most recent outing, when he gave up a grand slam to Gary Sanchez. That was his first outing in 18 days.
