According to reports out of Korea, star shortstop Ha-seong Kim is headed to the United States to likely take a physical that would finalize a deal.

Buster Olney of ESPN reports that on the heels of acquiring pitcher Blake Snell, that the Padres are making a serious run at Kim.

Kim, 25, was posted by Kiwoom Heroes and is available to be signed by MLB teams until January 1, 2021. Multiple outlets have noted that Kim is expected to receive at least five years and that the Blue Jays are considered the favorites.

The Mets were also listed as a team showing interest in Kim according to an article from a Korean newspaper.

In 2020, the shortstop/third baseman hit .306/.397/.523 with 30 home runs, 109 RBI and 23 stolen bases. For his career, he has a .294/.373/.493 slash line with 133 home runs, 575 RBI and 134 stolen bases.
