According to sources Mike Puma of the New York Post talked to, New York Mets longtime trainer Ray Ramirez will be returning to the organization for the 2018 season.

Ramirez has been the Mets head athletic trainer since 2004 and has been in the organization and began his career with the GCL Mets in 1983.

The Mets 2017 season has been derailed by a slew of injuries to key players like Noah Syndergaard, Jeurys Familia and Yoenis Cespedes. The Mets have had a total of 28 players from the major league team hit the disabled list in 2017, tied for the third most in the majors.

Earlier this month, it was also reported that the Mets will still employ strength and conditioning advisor Mike Barwis.
