According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, the Mets are showing interest in free agent reliever Jeremy Jeffress.

Puma reports that the Reds and Phillies have also shown interest.

The right-hander was recently released by the Brewers after a rough second half that includes a 7.56 ERA and a hip injury. The 2018 All-Star was much better in the first half with a 3.82 ERA and held opponents to a .649 OPS.

For the season in 52 innings, the former first rounder has a 5.02 ERA, 3.97 FIP, and 1.37 WHIP over 48 games.

Jeffress’ agent Joshua Kusnick was openly critical of Mets GM and former agent Brodie Van Wagenen over the offseason due to the potential conflict of interest, which could lessen the likelihood of a deal getting done.
