Jon Heyman of Fan Rag Sports is reporting that free agent center fielder Lorenzo Cain has multiple four-year offers on the table.

Cain’s agents have begun informing teams they are out of the bidding for his services per Heyman as well.

The market has been relatively quiet for the best center fielder on the market despite him coming off a 2017 in which he hit .300/.363/.440, .803 OPS+ with 27 doubles, five triples, 15 home runs, 26 stolen bases and was a 5.3 WAR player.

Cain will turn 32 in April and has seen a dip in his defensive runs saved the last two seasons (18 in 2015 down to 5 in 2017) and his UZR in center has fallen four straight seasons down to 2.4 this past year.

The Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays and the Milwaukee Brewers are the teams we’ve heard connected to Cain the most though it’s safe to say there are more than three teams seriously interested in him. The Giants also had some interest before adding both Andrew McCutchen and Austin Jackson recently.

Cain did receive and reject the qualifying offer so the team signing him will have to forfeit a draft pick and lose international bonus pool money.
