Jon Heyman of MLB Network updates his own report on free agent right-handed reliever Dellin Betances, he is now “not likely” to sign with the Mets.

Both Heyman and Jack Curry of YES, reported late on Monday night that the Mets were making a push for the former Yankee, along with the Phillies.

The Mets – coming off having one of the worst bullpens in baseball during the 2019 season – have re-signed righty Brad Brach, given lefty Chasen Shreve a minor league deal, and added Michael Wacha potentially to the bullpen mix. Wacha said he signed to be a starter, though that seems unlikely after the signing of Rick Porcello puts Michael sixth on the depth chart.

Outside of Betances, the dwindling free agent reliever market includes righties Will Harris, Daniel Hudson, Steve Cishek, Craig Stammen, and Collin McHugh,
