Noah Syndergaard will finally get his wish.

According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Rene Rivera will catch Syndergaard for his start on Wednesday. With Tomas Nido catching Steven Matz on Monday, Ramos will have two games off during the Colorado Series this week.

A story in the New York Post last week reported that Syndergaard was unhappy throwing to Ramos. Though he later cleared the air and said he respected Ramos, there was an awkward tension.

The Mets dismissed Syndergaard’s wishes, saying that players need to realize certain decisions are made for the benefit of the team.

This past weekend against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Ramos caught Syndergaard, with the latter being touched up in an ultimate 9-2 Dodgers victory.

Now with the season on the line, Syndergaard will get a chance to throw to Rivera.

The 27-year-old is 10-8 with a 4.15 ERA and 2.3 bWAR in 2019.
