billy hamilton out

The Cincinnati Reds are reportedly listening to trade offers on arguably the best baserunner in baseball, Billy Hamilton, as reported by Buster Olney of ESPN.

Hamilton, 26, is coming off his best season yet in which he hit to a .260/.321/.343 batting line to go along with three homers and 17 RBI. Those numbers of course are not earth shattering in any way but he also had his third consecutive season with 55-plus stolen bases in 2016, as he swiped 58.

It has almost come to feel as though anytime that Hamilton would reach first base, he would automatically end up on second and sometimes third. His timing and speed are seemingly unmatched by anyone in Major League Baseball today.

Hamilton has also become a defensive whiz out in centerfield for the Reds, further adding to his value. He is one of those special type players that can really ignite a team when it needs it most, both with his defense and prowess on the basepaths.

Hamilton is under team control for the next three seasons and with the Reds currently rebuilding, it could be in their best interests to get what they can for the lightning rod that Hamilton has become.
