THE NL BATTING RACE

The National League batting race wages on as last night, Jose Reyes had three hits for the Mets to retake the lead over the Brewers’ Ryan Braun.

With only two games left to the season, Reyes leads Braun by just 3 ten-thousandths of a percentage point.

Now that’s close!

Hitter and Pitcher Match-ups

Jose Reyes will face the Reds’ RHP Bronson Arroyo (9-12, 5.09 ERA) and RHP Edinson Volquez (5-6, 5.84 ERA).

Braun will face the Pirates’ RHP Ross Ohlendorf (1-3, 8.29 ERA) and LHP Jeff Locke (0-2, 4.97 ERA).

Both hitters will play at their home parks.

If Reyes pulls it off, he will become the first Met in franchise history to win a Batting Title.
