The Tampa Bay Rays have acauired left-handed reliever Dan Jennings from the Chicago White Sox according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
In return, the White Sox will get former first round pick Casey Gillaspie. The former No. 20 pick from 2014 has struggled this season hitting only .227/.296/.357 in Triple-A. He was ranked as the No. 10 prospect in the Rays system.
Jennings has a 3.45 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and has struck out 38 batters in 44.1 innings. His big strength comes against lefties who he has held to a .497 OPS this year.
Last night, the Colorado Rockies improved their bullpen with right-hander Pat Nishek from the Philadelphia Phillies. They sent prospects Jose Gomez, J.D. Hammer and Alejandro Requena to the Phillies.
Neshek was an All-Star this year, and has been impressive with a 1.12 ERA and 0.82 WHIP to go with 45 strikeouts and only five walks in 40.1 innings.
The bullpen market seems to be heating up and Sandy Alderson holds one of the best chips in Addison Reed.
