
Matt Harvey gave the New York Mets the pitching performance they needed as they defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-2 on Sunday night at PNC Park to finish off the weekend series win.
Pitching
Matt Harvey showed some signs of his “Dark Knight” form, and put together his best start of the season. Harvey threw six innings of one run ball, and allowed six hits and struck out four.
Paul Sewald allowed one run over two innings, and struck out two.
Neil Ramirez struggled, walking two, but was able to work a scoreless ninth inning.

Hitting
Eight of the nine Mets starters reached base at least once in tonight’s game, including Matt Harvey.
Jose Reyes drove in a run with a single, scored a run, and stole his sixth base of the season.
Jay Bruce reached base three times, including a two run double.
Asdrubal Cabrera picked up two hits on the night, he also drove in a pair of runs with a double.
Lucas Duda homered for the second time in as many games. Duda now has seven home runs on the season.
Curtis Granderson was inserted in the leadoff spot with Michael Conforto taking the day off. Granderson reached base three times, and drove in and scored a run.

The Mets return home to Citi Field to take on the Brewers for a 4:10 PM Memorial Day matinee. Robert Gsellman is expected to face off against Matt Garza.
