The New York Mets (37-42) defeated the Philadelphia Phillies (26-52) 2-1 on Friday night at Citi Field. The win marks the Mets sixth in their last seven games.

Pitching

Jacob deGrom (7-3, 3.71 ERA) took the hill looking to keep up his recent dominance and did exactly that. He went seven innings and gave up three hits, one walk, and one run while striking out 12 Phillies. In his last four starts he is now 4-0 with a 0.84 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched.

Jerry Blevins was called upon to pitch with a 2-1 lead in the eighth for the Mets. He gave up a one-out double, got the second out of the inning, but was then replaced for Paul Sewald. Sewald then got Freddy Galvis out on a fly ball to left field to end the inning.

Addison Reed took the mound for the ninth looking for his 13th save of the season and his second in two games. He converted the save opportunity with a perfect frame.

Offense

The Mets faced 25-year-old Ben Lively (1-2, 3.90 ERA) who made his sixth start of 2017. Curtis Granderson drove in the Mets first run of the game during the second inning on a ground ball single to shortstop.

In the fourth inning, Jose Reyes got on base with a one-out triple; his fourth triple of the season. Travis d’Arnaud followed and drove in Reyes with a single to give the Mets a 2-0 lead.

Granderson extended his hitting streak to eight games and his RBI streak to five games with his performance on Friday.
