q6ff4hEL.jpegIf you thought for one moment that that the Mets were done shopping or building this team, put such inklings away.

The Mets are still interested in adding Pudge Rodriguez, but current backup catcher, Ramon Castro stands in the way.

Aside from his defensive skills and any offensive skills he brings to the table, the Mets are most intrigued by the two World Series trips and the ring on his finger.

And it’s not simply the Mets who remain interested in Rodriguez, but even Pudge himself has expressed a strong desire to catch for the Mets.

“I know I can help the Mets and their young pitching. They are a team who wants to win and we are a good match.”

Rodriguez even strengthened his his case for the Mets, when he said he would even prefer to be a backup catcher for the Mets if that’s what they wanted.

Finally, after Saturday’s performance in which Mets VP Tony Bernazard was on hand, Carlos Delgado who is Pudge’s teammate on Puerto Rico, said “If you ask me publicly, I will advocate for Ivan because I know that he can help us.”

As I stated in the beginning of this post, Ramon Castro remains a Met and until the Mets find a taker. all this talk of Rodriguez is just that, talk.

However, with a new trimmed up Ramon Castro coming to camp with a new attitude and leading the team with two homers and seven RBI’s, his trade value which had been very low, has suddenly started to heat up.
