Opening Day is just around the corner. I’ve got my tickets and I hope you guys do as well. Baseball is back, which means all the familiar sights and sounds, and foods. However you may want to hold off on the tailgate hotdogs and those Cracker Jacks, because Citi Field has a ton of great new items on the menu throughout the ballpark that I personally just can’t wait to get my hands on.
Of the most significant changes to your Mets dining experience is the expanded partnership with Pat LaFrieda of Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors that the Mets announced today. A LaFrieda Meats branded Chop House will open inside the Delta Sky360° Club on the Sterling Level. Named Pat LaFrieda’s Chop House the new dining location will offer both a sit-down and bar menu creating a one of a kind experience where fans can relax and enjoy a meal while at the ballpark for a Mets game.

The menu will feature a blend of light fare and sandwiches showcasing two LaFrieda family recipes – the Pat LaFrieda’s Original Filet Mignon Steak Sandwich as well as Pat’s grandfather’s custom blend sweet Italian sausage & peppers.
Rounding out the menu is a selection of entrees including succulent Colorado frenched lamb chops, and a flavorful 16oz dry-aged bone in NY Strip steak, sides and freshly baked desserts. A shortened version of the Chop House menu will be available at the bar adjacent to the restaurant.
The Delta Sky360° Club Market will feature a LaFrieda family custom blend sausage, Two Boots pizza, and Batter Up Chicken by Tribeca Grill, buttermilk fried chicken, warm pizzelle cookies and a whipped maple butter.
In addition to the existing Pat LaFrieda’s Original Filet Mignon Steak Sandwich stand that debuted last year, LaFrieda will now offer a second location on the Promenade Level behind home plate. This stand will also feature Korean Style Steamed Buns, two boneless black angus short rib buns, one boneless chicken bun all marinated in a mouthwatering blend of ginger, soy, scallions and sesame oil.
As for the rest of Citi Field, Under the direction of Citi Field Executive Chef Robert Flowers, the Mets and ARAMARK have added new dining options throughout the ballpark.
El Verano Taqueria at Taste of the City on the Field Level behind centerfield will feature a new Cantina bar menu with frozen drinks and housemade snacks such as chile roasted peanuts and pork rinds. The newly renamed Hain Celestial Gluten-Free Stand adjacent to the World’s Fare Market will offer gluten-free Hain Celestial snacks, hot dogs, sausage and peppers and beer. The Promenade Level will feature a bar by section 414 with frozen and mixed drinks.
Two new single-serve Zipz wines – Fetzer Crimson Cabernet Blend and Fetzer Quartz Chardonnay Blend – will be available at several locations throughout the ballpark including most Taste of the City concessions and through in-seat service.

The all-inclusive club, formerly known as the Champions Club, features a gourmet buffet includes a daily chef selection of carved meats and pasta and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. A selection of peanuts, popcorn, fresh baked cookies and ice cream are also available. The club, located on the Field Level behind home plate, is only accessible to Hyundai Club ticket holders.
There’s a lot to like and eat at Citi Field in 2013. With plenty of great additions to the menu, there is only one thing left to say:
