The Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to a two-year, $11 million dollar contract with free agent right-hander Daniel Hudson, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

Hudson, 30, is coming off a disastrous season posting a 5.22 ERA and a 1.442 WHIP in 70 appearances for the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was a far cry from 2015, when he had a 3.86 ERA and a 1.315 WHIP in 64 appearances.

As was pointed out by Mets Daddy in this article, Hudson threw his changeup with great effectiveness in 2015, but that wasn’t the case this season. He generated the most swings and misses and the weakest contact when he threw his changeup last year. However, this year, no one was fooled by Hudson’s changeup with batters hitting the pitch frequently and with authority.

Hudson has undergone two Tommy John surgeries in his career, the last one forced him to miss the entire 2013 season.
