MLB Network continued their annual Top 10 Right Now series on Wednesday night with first basemen. Mets first baseman Pete Alonso was on the list at No. 7 after a down year in 2020.

Here’s the entire list:

1. Freddie Freeman
2. Paul Goldschmidt, St. Louis Cardinals
3. Luke Voit, New York Yankees
4. José Abreu, Chicago White Sox
5. Max Muncy, Los Angeles Dodgers
6. Anthony Rizzo, Chicago Cubs
7. Pete Alonso, New York Mets
8. Matt Olson, Oakland Athletics
9. Rhys Hoskins, Philadelphia Phillies
10. Carlos Santana, Kansas City Royals

On the show last night, MLB Network analyst and former MLB first baseman Sean Casey said, “When I look at Pete Alonso, I say, ‘This guy is still elite.’ His hard-hit rate is still there, that says for me over six months, you’re going to see some big numbers. I really think 2021, Pete Alonso’s going to have a great year.”

On previous countdowns, Brandon Nimmo ranked fifth among center fielders and Dominic Smith ranked sixth in left field.
