Today, the Las Vegas 51s wrapped up the 2018 season, and their time as a Mets affiliate with a matinee against the Sacramento River Cats.

In their last game at Cashman Field, the 51s headed to the ninth trailing 3-2. Leading off the bottom of the ninth, Luis Guillorme lined a triple past Peter Bourjos in center.

Already 1-for-4 on the day, Mets top prospect Peter Alonso stepped into the box. Just as you would expect, Alonso gave Cashman the type of sendoff every stadium deserves.

In an ending that couldn’t have been written any better, Alonso launched a two run walk-off home run to end the Triple-A season with a 4-3 Vegas win.

Alonso ends his tremendously successful season with a .285 average, 36 home runs and 119 RBI’s. The 51s end their final season as a Mets affiliate with a record of 71-69.
