Ken Rosenthal of FOX is reporting that the Orioles are “pushing to complete deal with Cruz..” After locking up J.J. Hardy this morning, it looks like Baltimore is trying to make sure the core of that team stays together after 2014.
Following his PED suspension, Cruz signed a one-year make good deal with the Orioles. Now, he is looking to cash in on his monster 2014. He led Major League Baseball with 40 home runs and at 33 years old, will likely look to sign a long-term deal.
Orioles General Manager Dan Duquette has been extremely busy during his few days off between the Division and League Championship Series which begins tomorrow in Baltimore.
